Who is Professor Loyiso Nongxa?

His academic success didn’t end there, as he received a Beit Scholarship to study at the University of Oxford, where he earned a PhD in Mathematics.

After completing his PhD, Professor Nongxa held numerous positions in academia before becoming the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of the Witwatersrand in 2003. During his time there, he was an instrumental leader in advancing academic excellence and promoting diversity on campus.
