La Force des Femmes: The Power and Strength of Women
Women are the backbone of our society. From managing households to running multinational corporations, women have consistently proven themselves as strong, resilient and capable beings who can overcome any challenges thrown their way. In recent years, the concept of La force des femmes or the power and strength of women has been gaining more prominence, and for a good reason.
Statistics on La Force des Femmes
- Women make up around 50% of the world’s population.
- Women perform around 66% of the world’s work, and produce 50% of the food but earn only 10% of the income and own only 1% of the property.
- Women-led companies have historically generated higher profits than those led by men. A study by the Peterson Institute for International Economics found that companies with at least 30% women in leadership positions have a net profit margin that is 6% higher than those without female leadership.
- Women around the world are rising to political power. In 2021, there are 34 countries with a female head of state or government.
Despite these impressive statistics, women still face discrimination, societal stereotypes and glass ceilings. Gender equality remains a key issue worldwide, and the fight for gender parity continues.
